Codex menu and direct skills

Submit $sheriff alone to see Run, Audit, Sync, and Status. Reply with a number or action name; no workflow starts until you choose. A direct skill such as $sheriff-audit bypasses the menu and preserves any flags.

The six action skills cover run, audit, sync, status, configure, and help. The older $sheriff run style remains supported for all operations. Reset and update continue to use $sheriff reset and $sheriff update; there are no separate reset or update skills.

run

Claude Code
/sheriff:run
Codex
$sheriff-run

Run or resume discovery, planning, test generation, and reporting. Choose audit mode when prompted, or pass --audit or --no-audit.

sync

Claude Code
/sheriff:sync
Codex
$sheriff-sync

Audit current staged, unstaged, and untracked source changes, then update affected tests. A clean worktree has no sync work. Choose one selector to change the scope: --files, --staged, --since-commit, or --since-branch.

audit

Claude Code
/sheriff:audit
Codex
$sheriff-audit

Review source for bugs, security issues, and dead code. Report findings by default; apply authorized fixes and synchronize tests for the corrected behavior.

status

Claude Code
/sheriff:status
Codex
$sheriff-status

See the current test inventory, known gaps, and phase progress.

configure

Claude Code
/sheriff:configure
Codex
$sheriff-configure

Choose test types, runners, scope, and failure behavior. Model and delegation preferences apply where the host supports them.

reset

Claude Code
/sheriff:reset
Codex
$sheriff reset

Use --discovery-only to archive the current plan and evidence while preserving configuration and tests. With no flag or --full, delete all .sheriff/ state, including configuration and archives. Source and tests outside that directory remain.

update

Claude Code
/sheriff:update
Codex
$sheriff update

Update this tool’s Sheriff installation, retaining its install scope.

help

Claude Code
/sheriff:help
Codex
$sheriff-help
