Resume and reset
Resume interrupted Sheriff workflows, retry a phase, or reset a plan. Recover your testing progress in Claude Code and Codex without starting over.
Resume pending work
Run /sheriff:run or $sheriff-run again to resume pending work, with saved handoffs taking priority within dependency order. Passing, failed, and review items are not automatically retried on an ordinary resume.
Retry a phase
To retry failed or review items in an existing phase, use the phase number:
/sheriff:run --phase 1$sheriff-run --phase 1Replace 1 with the phase number. Passing work is preserved.
Start a new plan
Use /sheriff:run --from-scratch or $sheriff-run --from-scratch to archive the old plan and evidence and rebuild discovery. Configuration and existing tests are kept.
Reset discovery
/sheriff:reset --discovery-only$sheriff reset --discovery-onlyThis archives maps, plans, results, reports, and handoffs for rebuilding on the next run. It preserves configuration and existing tests.
Full reset
A reset with no flag, or with --full, deletes the entire .sheriff/ directory, including configuration and archives.
Source and test files outside
.sheriff/are preserved. Reset refuses to proceed while workers are active.
Stay in sync
Keep tests aligned with code changes using Sheriff sync. Refresh coverage for changed JavaScript and TypeScript files in Claude Code or Codex.
